Hollywood has high hopes for “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” At the end of an underwhelming year at the box office, the latest installment to the ‘Star Wars’ franchise is projected to take in at least $500 million in the last two weeks of 2017. Studio executives are also counting on impressive ticket sales from “Thor: Ragnarok,” out this weekend, and “Justice League,” in theaters Nov. 17. Hollywood made $550 million at the box office last month, marking the worst October at multiplexes since 2007. “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” hits theaters December 15th.
