Hey, Gossip Girl fans! I’m Lindsay Dreyer from Wetpaint Entertainment. When you’re young, rich, impossibly beautiful, and famous, there’s only one thing to do: Find a fellow rich beautiful famous person to snuggle. And the cast of Gossip Girl have pursued it diligently, cutting a swath a mile wide in eligible Hollywood. Here’s a sampling of the Gossip Girl cast’s Hollywood hookups.
It was a match made in heaven: Blake Lively and Penn Badgley not only had their jobs and their beauty in common, they also had a matching pair of the world’s preppiest names. Since they’ve now broken up, we’ll never find out if their first child would be named Palmer or Smythe.
Blake probably hasn’t shed any tears over the breakup, though, since she’s moved on to just about the greenest pastures there are: She’s currently being romanced by Leonardo DiCaprio. We hope they avoid the temptation to reenact that “I’m flying, Jack” moment from Titanic — it’ll be an uncomfortable reminder that Blake was 9 years old when it came out.
But Blake hasn’t managed to keep all the handsome Hollywood men to herself: Leighton Meester had a long on-again, off-again romance with Sebastian Stan, who played Carter Baizen. Were all GG cast members forcibly paired off when they stepped on set?
Chace Crawford never seems to hold onto a girlfriend for more than a week, but he’s had some doozies: Rumored and confirmed Chace-snugglers include Emma Roberts, Carrie Underwood, Malin Akerman’s sister Jennifer, Ashley Greene, Rachel Bilson, underwear actress Elizabeth Minett, and probably about six others since I started talking.
Jessica Szohr and Ed Westwick didn’t want to be bothered going outside to find a date — they just hooked up with a costar. The two dated on and off in a cycle that became all too familiar: smiling, holding hands, rumored messy breakup, “just friends” announcement, public sex on a nightclub couch, repeat. They seem to be splits for good now, probably because every nightclub has banned them for health hazards.
